AN INSIGHT INTO NOMADS VERY OWN DONALD TRUMP
Local business tycoon / property magnate Nathan Eady built his Sign Writing business up after his father Pete gave him a box of crayons on his 21st Birthday. After many years working alone from his bedroom, and discovering he was crap, Eady decided the best way forward was to hire a task force of workers, who could not only do the job propery for him, but also make him millions.
On the footballing front, Eady's career as Nomads player never really took off due to a tragic injury as ball boy which put an end to his aspirations of breaking into the 43 man reserve squad. This heartbreaking set back did not deter him, and in 1992 he became a member of Eddie Lynch's backroom staff at Orlingbury Road. In 97/98 he was handed the Assistant Managers role alongside Frank Hauser, and when Hauser walked away in 98/99 to concentrate on his body building career, Eady stepped into the hottest seat in football.
Over the next 2-3 years, Eady brought the feelgood factor to the streets of Isham…the pinnacle seeing Nomads crowned as Lower Junior Cup Winners in 2000. In 2002, Nomads were rocked to the core when Eady announced he would be stepping down after securing the role of Toadfish in Australian super soap Neighbours. For a couple of years the foundations he had set enabled his replacement Paul Smith to ride on the back of his success, but unfortunately the bad times were just round the corner. After a number of management changes, poor seasons and ultimately relegation, temptation got the better of him and at the start of the 2008/09 campaign, the messiah had returned and this time he meant business….the goatee had been shaved off.
Can the man with the midas touch really restore Nomads back to the glory years……….??????
Name: Nathan Bartholomew Eady
Birthplace: Ethiopia
Family: Wife Tanya / 2 children
Nicknames: Basher / Jupitus / Toadfish / Moyles.
Best moment in football: I have had many happy times, however me being the only reason we won the Junior Cup fills me with warmth.
Worst moment in football: That injury…..when I fell in the stingers fetching a ball for the first team, I knew right away that was it for me. I still to this day have to wear a tubigrip on my knee.
Biggest regret in football: Not picking Dude in the 2001/2002 season, that boy could play, I just didn't see it.
Biggest influence: My father, Pete. He taught me every swear word I know all before my 5th birthday.
Life after Nomads?: Nomads will always have a place in my heart, even when I am too old to oversee the 1st team, I am sure in some capacity I will be involved. However BBC have approached me to replace that Alan Sugar fellow on The Apprentice. I think I have the face for (widescreen) TV.
The promosing start to the 2009/10 season has everyone in the village of Isham buzzing asking the questions….
Are Nomads really on the verge of overtaking Punjab Utd as the areas football superpower?
Can Basher Eady build yet another successful team?
Can Toadie really get away with throwing teacups at players?
How much longer can Jupitus wear figure hugging tracksuits?
Does Moyles do any work during the week or does he get Dale Bates to do the work whilst he plots Nomads future from Eady Towers?
Everyone in the world of football waits with baited breath to see if the legend that is Nathan Eady can deliver….
Eady would like it be known that he received no fee for this interview. He prints his own money anyway.
